disclaimer: reading and trying to follow the following conversation may or may not : be seriously hazardous to mental well-being or question one's moral standing or cause serious difficulties in deciding one's future course of action. The opinions are solely of two CBTMs and the author, though largeley responsible for the opinions, will be happy to face any lawsuits, for it can be used to generate publicity.
P.S (Pre-Script): CBTM - Carbon based (thank you, Douglas Adams and all the scientists who discoverd that) life forms, largely made of meat, which proclaim themselves as capabable of thinking, widely known as (because it was known to me even before I wrote this) Carbon Based Thinking Meat. More details in footnote and possibly, seperate posts.
(Scene: Enjoying an excessively warm sunshine on a seashore, CBTM1 sees CBTM2 reading something in its 'one-piece-seemingly-have-all-i-need' handheld, enormously sized dumb machine. The machine is not very dissimilar in appearance and purpose to the hold-all toliet pouch that was in vogue in that region some time before.)
CBTM1: What are u reading? Give it to me. Let me see. (Taking hold of the machine and examining.) Hmm... Toohey, Keating, Wynand... I have seen these names before. I have read this. Cant recognise them immediately. What's this....
CBTM2: You have read this before. Why cant you recognise this?
CBTM1: Oh this! You are reading this book again! I can't beleive this!
CBTM2: Why? Whats your problem with that?
CBTM1: You know that ever since I read this book, I am of the opinion that it is a whole heap of shit, don't you?
CBTM2: Yeah, I know that. But i feel its an excellent book.
CBTM1:ha! 'excellent book' for such an amateurish stuff! The way it preaches on how CBTMs should live their life, it sounds like it had ambitious plans to replace the Bible as most widely followed text.
CBTM2: It just says one should not bother about what the society thinks of it but should relentlessly pursue its private plans hatched completely in its mind. Come what may the consequences for itself or for its kith, kin and niece. Whats wrong with that?
CBTM1: It says that there is some very significant thing to be done in life and that there is only one such thing. It makes a propaganda that every CBTM must do that very thing at the cost of all earthly pleasures they can have. It makes me laugh.
CBTM2: Trying to achieve something significant in life makes you laugh?
CBTM1: Why not? Its widley known truth that CBTMs themselves are utterly insignificant in a larger scheme of things. A significant acheivement by a CBTM! It makes me laugh the hell out of me!!
CBTM2: You dont mean to believe The Hitchhiker's Guide to Galaxy [see postscript], do you? Its only a fiction.
CBTM1: I most certainly believe that its description of CBTMs is perfectly within the realms of reason.
CBTM2: Oh really? You think so? If there is no significance for whatever you do then why do you do anything at all?
CBTM1: Oh, thats just to amuse myself about my foolishness. In other words, just to keep myself occupied and to avoid becoming more mad than I am presently!
(At this point, CBTM1, thinking that it has done a lot of talking, decides that it should either have tea or fall asleep. Since no one around are exactly offering it a tea, it falls asleep)
P.S (Postscript):
1. The Hitchhiker's Guide to Galaxy translated to English by a genius CBTM Douglas Adams says about earth and its occupants:
Orbiting a small unregarded yellow sun at a distance of roughly ninety-two million miles is an utterly insignificant little blue-green planet whose ape-descended life forms are so amazingly primitive that they still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea.
2. The book CBTM2 was reading: The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand
just by saying everything is insignificant, did he actually say something very significant?
பதிலளிநீக்குTo me significance in both the cmtb, or for that in any cmtb is the 'T'
